The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

Updated: Jan 20

๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ๐ŸŒ We are absolutely bananas about this book!

Blurb:

Smaug certainly looked fast asleep, almost dead and dark, with scarcely a snore more than a whiff of unseen steam, when Bilbo peeped once more from the entrance.

He was just about to step out onto the floor when he caught a sudden thin ray of red from under Smaug's left eye. He was only pretending to be asleep! He was watching the tunnel entrance!

Our review:

Bilbo Baggins, who lives on Bag shot lane is to go on an adventure, with thirteen feisty dwarves and one magnificent wizard, Gandalf.

Wow! I knew this book was a classic but I didn't know how good it was! My dad read it to my sister and I, and he did it with all the voices too- which really made it come alive. This book is practically made for families to read together. Every night you want more pages than have been read! I loved the dwarves' attitude, it is hilarious to see their different personalities! It is best if an adult reads it to children, because it might be a bit scary at times, but it is a truly magical story. How J.R.R Tolkien wrote it, I do not know. The sequel to this book is 'The Lord Of The Rings' (We have not finished it yet, so the review is not up at the moment.) It is a classic, a must-read and really enchanting! I could not recommend it more!
