The Hatmakers by Tamzin Merchant

🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌 We are absolutely bananas about this new bestselling book!

Blurb:

Enter a spellbinding world brimming with magic and wonder in this soaring adventure...

Cordelia comes from a long line of magical milliners, who weave enchantment into every hat. In Cordelia’s world, Making- crafting items from magical ingredients- is a rare and ancient skill, and only a few special maker families remain.

But when Cordelia’s father goes missing at sea and ancient rivalries resurface, Cordelia wonders if someone is using magic to start a war...

Our review:

Always learning, always making, always curious. Cordelia is happy with her family of magic milliners, but with her relatives all convinced that her father is dead after a wreck, she begins to feel that there is more than meets the eye...

This wacky, imaginative and intriguing book is a great read. I loved every page!!! The different ideas Merchant has had are mind boggling, there are plot twists at every turn, and feathers, bows and buttons strewn across the story line. I enjoyed the descriptions of the Hatmakers’ house and the characters expressions most. As I read it, I felt the room around me melt away and I was in the tale. This book is perfect for lovers of Pages and Co. My age rating would be from 8- 15, and could be enjoyable for families, classes and as a gift.

It is due to be published on the 18th of February, and you can look into buying it at talesonmoonlane.co.uk.

I think this was a brilliant book, and I hope for a sequel!

A big thank you to Kathlyn and the team at Tales for supplying this book.
